The next time you head down Kintner Alley in Stroudsburg, you may be surprised to see that the Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care center — for years a familiar sight in the neighborhood — isn’t there anymore. But don’t worry: Your friends are still nearby. They just moved around the corner — barely a stone throw away from their old location — to 101 Kraemer Avenue, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. And they’re still providing the same terrific service you’ve come to depend on for your cars.

So why the move? “Space,” says Center Owner Sal Albanese. “We outgrew our old building.” And space is something they’ll have a lot more of: The new building is 8000 square feet; over twice the size of the old center!

It’s no wonder why they need more space: The Cottman of Stroudsburg now offers full repair services, which means there are a lot more cars coming in every day. The new location will help their technicians serve customers faster, and to get you back on the road quicker. The new center provides more room throughout, so cars that come in to be worked on the following day can be locked up inside the shop, instead of parked outside. “We’ll have room to keep about 30 cars inside at night,” says Sal.

The new center includes six service bays, a rebuilding area, and a parts and storage room. They also have a larger waiting area, including a game room equipped with games and vending machines. “And they’re all free for our customers,” says Sal.

To what does Sal attribute their astonishing growth? “We run our business like a family shop,” he says. “Our customers know us by name.” Family shop may be a good description: Sal is the transmission rebuilder, while his son, Santo, is the center manager.

“And we offer our customers a 3-year, 36,000-mile, nationwide warranty on our automatic transmissions; the rest of the shops in the area are still offering 12 and 12.” That could be a costly promise for some shops, but not the Cottman of Stroudsburg: “I’ve never had to pay for an out-of-state transmission failure yet,” he says proudly. “I’m the owner and the rebuilder: I don’t let anything go out of here unless it’s right.”

That’s an attitude that’s echoed by everyone in the center. They’ve received Cottman’s Customer Service award for the last five years, and Santo was been honored at this year’s national Cottman convention for the Center Manager of the Year award. And they have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. “We do a good job and keep people happy,” says Sal. What more could you want from a repair center?

So if you’re in need of terrific auto service in the Stroudsburg area, you can still depend on your friends at Cottman Transmissions and Total Car Care to be there for you… now in a newer, bigger center!  Visit them online at www.cottmanofstroudsburg.com
