This is one of the toughest situations to deal with when you have a problem, because there’s virtually no way the technician can diagnose car problems he can’t see or hear.

But there are a few things you can do to help make sure those problems show up. Pay close attention to when they occur:

  • How long were you driving the car before it showed up?
  • What were you doing when it occurred? Accelerating? Coasting? Turning?
  • What were the driving conditions when it occurred? Temperature, roadway, that sort of thing.  Of course, that’s still no guarantee that the problem will show up when you take it in for repairs. But you can be sure that your local Cottman center’s technicians will listen to your observations, and will do everything possible to duplicate your problem and correct it to your satisfaction.
  • Be as specific as you can so the technician can try to duplicate those conditions accurately during a road test.
